each lever. They also need to explain the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Reading Graded reading folders will be returned on Monday. Mrs. Chumney writes comments each week on the inside of each folder. Please take time to check it
each week. The folders will be handed in Friday. They will have four graded
assignments from the Paloma story. Students can reread the story at home.
Information about the third book report will come home Feb. 5. It will be due
March 13th. All students should have the book chosen and be reading by Feb

during the first week of March. All students would benefit from making word
cards and practicing.
Language and Spelling. Spelling work and test this Friday. Students will begin
to work out of their Sharpen Up workbooks. All assignments are to be done in
their spiral notebook. Pen pal forms are coming home. The cost is $1.00 and
students can sign up through Valentines Day.
All students will receive their camp forms Monday. They need to return the
medical form and permission slip TO THEIR HOMEROOM TEACHER. Camp money is paid to Mrs. Parks with any checks written out to TVMS. Each child will get one copy
of the supply list.
Please let me know if you have ideas that will help our students achieve their best. I heard an great interview on the radio from a Chicago sixth grade teacher. He recommends that the child and the parent sit down once a week. They have a special snack and go through folders and notebooks to clean up and organize for the week. It sounds like special time to get in touch.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Parks
