Sixth Grade Update

February 12, 2001

Math Homework:
Monday - Read page 254, do page 255 even. Students MUST show their work. We are developing good habits!
Tuesday - Read page 256, do page 257 even #, ALL problem solving and checkpoint
Wednesday - Read page 258, do page 259 even#, all PS
Thursday - We will be collecting data and graphing for a Valentine Day Math activity. This will be due Tuesday. Students who are participating in the student exchange will see me next week about this :)
     We will be using dry erase markers this week. If you could donate a box of tissues to the math class, we would appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Reading - Grade folders should some home MONDAY. Folders will be due this Thursday AM. They will have all three papers by Tuesday. They are reading "The
Princess and the Admiral". Book reports have been assigned. This NON-Fiction report is due March 13th.

Language and Spelling- Spelling Lesson 19. Students are practicing writing
notes, and using good word choices and similes and metaphors, in order to make their work more interesting. Please ask to read their notebook. Pen Pal orders are due Wed. Feb. 14.

Social Studies - Monday and Wednesday will be proficiency practice. Tuesday
will be chapter 11 review. Chapter 11 test is THURSDAY. Reread the chapter and review!

Science - Exploring Third class levers, incline planes and the advantages of
these. Tuesday will be a test on third class levers. Thursday the test will be on incline planes. Students should make sure their information is on their calendars! Calendar and Journal #19 are due Monday!

All camp forms and money are due by Thursday. If you have concerns please call Mrs.. Parks at home (330-897-0651 evenings)

Midterms come home Wednesday!  6C students will have a class list, Monday, for the Valentines party. The party will be Wednesday. 6C students need to donate
a bag of candy, please. Lindsay will collect it.
