Sixth Grade Update
March 12, 2001
Math
:
Students will have two take home quizzes Monday and Tuesday. They will begin a
Tessellation project Wednesday and it will be due Monday, March 17th. These will
be the final grades taken in the third nine weeks. Hopefully they will be fine
examples of the students very best work!
Science:
Calendars are due Monday. Campers should have lots of information to include!
Journals will come home on Monday. Notebooks are due Tuesday. Students were
given a new Table of Contents last week. PARENTS PLEASE ASK TO SEE YOUR
CHILD'S SCIENCE NOTEBOOK BEFORE IT IS TURNED IN FOR A GRADE!
Social
Studies:
Students will turn in their vocabulary notebook Thursday. Make
sure it is neat and written in pencil or all of the same color of pen.
Reading:
Book reports are due Tuesday! Students should have read a nonfiction
book. Make sure it is turned in on time!
Language and Spelling:
Students will begin to work with poetry in Language. There will not be spelling until next week.
All students will be taking the Proficiency Tests this week. Please help your
child get plenty of rest and make sure they have a good breakfast before school. All students must have their own protractor and calculator for the
math test on Wednesday. All students need several pencils each day. All students should bring a book to read incase they finish the exam early.
A HUGE thank you to all parents who volunteered to help at camp! You did a fantastic job. I had a great time and I am sure that all the students did too.
This is a reflection of your hard work. I am so grateful for each and every one of you!
Students: If you borrowed warm clothes, please make sure they are returned.
Mrs Hamm has the tye dye and candles for all students. You can pick them up on Monday.
Cookie donations can be dropped off in the office or taken to Mrs. Parks room.
All cookies will be divided into five equal groups, (Don't you just love the math!), and distributed to the five homerooms each day.
PATHS will donate muffins and juice. There is a PATHS meeting Monday night,
March 19th I hope to see you there!
